  • I have a commitment from Greg Andrew to hold a free 2 hour kayak Halibut Seminar
  • We have also set up a lobster hoop netting seminar held by Jorge. Promar has donated 16 brand new hoop nets as raffle prizes for this event.
  • Every attendee will receive one free Sabiki 500 custom made by FulRac
  • We'll have a one hour Skype session with StinkyMatt watching him shovel snow off of his driveway in Vermont
  • The one...the only...Yani will cook an entire 50# White Sea Bass on a rotisserie using a lemon pepper rub wrapped in grape leaves.
  • More exciting events being planned.

Zed 10-21-2015 07:17 PM

I read caRpathon and figured it was either Irvine or SARL.

Chuck D 10-21-2015 07:21 PM

Lake Morena???

EastLosYaker 10-21-2015 11:32 PM

Nice, using the mural painted on your garage door as your avatar. Chuck D keepin it classy.

EastLosYaker 10-21-2015 11:36 PM

Oh, and do we just start throwing dates out there? I'd love to make it to this one. Might recommend a three day weekend like MLK Day in January, or President's Day in February.

jorluivil 10-22-2015 06:15 AM

We've talked about big bear, Santa Ana river lakes and lake perris but haven't settled on anything

kayakfisherman 10-22-2015 06:17 AM

Plus a special seminar by Big Jim on the secrets to

Successful Pajama Fishing!!

WARRIORMIKE 10-22-2015 07:37 AM

Last I heard, Irvine is not allowing private vessels anymore due to losing huge lawsuits!!! "ALL BOATING HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED AT THIS TIME":eek::eek: http://www.irvinelake.net/

ful-rac 10-22-2015 02:40 PM

Yes Ed...we know...!

looking for a new venue...Silverwood might be a good place...

RedSledTeam 10-22-2015 07:38 PM

OK, then how about Lake Jennings? There is a really cool group campsite at the top of the hill overlooking the Lake.... http://www.lakejennings.org/camping/index.htm

Campsites at Silverwood are about a half mile drive from the lake. Lake Perris is good if you get the special group campsite at Bernasconi Beach on the far side of the lake away from the main camping area. Float tubers normally launch there.

ericko 10-22-2015 08:05 PM

Once you have a date and place I'm in...I need to get away looking forward to it.

Bernasconi Beach is closed while they are working on the dam.

Aquahunter 10-23-2015 12:26 PM

Or we can camp at 2 Harbor in Catalina island, there's a boat that can take kayaks there for a good price, I have been doing a little research on it and was thinking of bringing my family while I get dinner for them

That would be nice...but getting our gear over to the island would be a major pain...what have you found out?

Denis_Ruso 10-23-2015 01:22 PM

This would be awesome, I have always wanted to do this.

The La Jolla idea would be way cheaper tho, with way more participation, just saying.

I am up for both actually.

phisher_man bossin-it 10-23-2015 02:48 PM

I'd like to join you folks on this. Sounds like a blast!

wwkf 10-23-2015 05:48 PM

Is this open to anyone Catalina sounds great I would joint

ful-rac 11-13-2015 08:47 AM

The Venue will be....

With Irvine lake closed to all private boat launch and kayaks...We've had a hard time picking a venue for our annual campout. Considering fishing and convenience and location we have settled on Santa Ana River Lakes. I know it's not the best place for wanting to camp...because the back drop is the 91 freeway... ! It's not all bad though...we have potential for great fishing, camping, camp fire, food, and all the fun that comes along with it. Besides it kinda fits in with the whole team sewer thing...;)

At the last event we had a $5 or $10 dollar fishing tournament at irvine for the biggest fish, won by bwana Mike, with all proceeds going to the James Lebowitz scholarship endowment. This year we have another BWE member in need and that's our very own Steve Green (Landwhale). If you haven't heard he has been diagnosed with Cancer and will be needing help from our community. Steve and his daughter Heather also attened our Irvine lake campout this year contributing once again to another member in need. So I propose that we do the same for Steve, and contribute all the money collected from the Santa Ana River Lakes tourney to our good ol' buddy steve's cancer treatment fund.

We have not picked out a date for our campout as of yet...It will be decided sometime soon. Possibly, sometime in December and if not definitely sometime in January. If you are interested in joining us let me know.

If you haven't seen what one of our campouts is like check out the video of our last event.

Only two members became pregnant during these outings so far.

Jim will pay you 20 bucks if you let him rub your feet.

Either George OR Roby WILL forget their tent and sleeping bag....very quickly the other one will offer to let his friend share his tent and bag. It works out for both of them.

Oh yes, they do sometimes fish.

I miss these things.
