Belmont Pier Carp or Gold Fish
 
I was at Belmont Pier this morning and saw a guy pull in a carp or maybe a very large gold fish. The LA River has carp, but I doubt they will survive miles from fresh water. Possible it was washed out with yesterdays rain...

I don't blame him... Pier fishing sucks. That's probably the best thing he caught all year ...nice fish!!

That is indeed a goldfish, probably living quite happily in a sewer pipe somewhere, you can tell because it was really losing much of its coloration. It most likely got washed out with the rain, they are pretty hardy and can live in salt water for a few days, especially when there is a large slug of fresh water that just came down with all of the rain the past few days.

That goldfish would fit nicely in my aquarium! Have two small ones in a 400gal tank, im pretty sure that a world record in terms of goldfish homes in captivity :luxhello:
