Proper way of storing your Hobie

I was wondering what the best way to store your hobie was. I just have mine on the garage floor upside down. I tried standing on its side but I'm afraid it might fall too easily.

I was also thinking about buying one of those Hobie stands, but it says "not recommended for long term storage".

Some pictures would be helpful.

Thanks!

Not a hobie, but my kayak is stored on a pair of Talic Seahorse racks. I'm just spit-ballin' here, but I wonder if you wouldn't be better off storing it upright on a pair of hull-shaped foam blocks?

Thanks Dave. Just checked out the rack you are using. Looks like a good idea.

2" pvc bunks work for me for my pa. Many people build a 2x4 cart with pvc bunks for storage of all your gear and ease of loading.

Take old mattress and store on top of it on floor or on table.

What I like about them is that they quickly fold up into a nice bundle for travel, so if you're going to be camping out or something you can bust them out.

Check manual

Dealer pointed it out to me when I asked them for proper technique .This is after having collapsed a side from using the wrong technique on my old yak .The kayak should be placed laying flat down . Not standing up , or on its side . In cold weather it may not make much difference ,come summer in a 130 degree garage and you got a problem . Look in your manual if you still have it . Confirm with dealer.

whole bunch of stuff ... "ok google"

I made 2 jhooks from electrical piping. My hobie hangs on the wall in the garage.

I store mine upside down on home depot DIY saw horses. The gunwale is the strongest part of the hull.

Thanks for the pic.

I think I'm gonna go with a saw horse. A lot cheaper than the talic seahorse rack, although they are very nice.
