San Diego HOW needs Volunteers
 

We need help!

We are in the process of building our volunteer base and need to bring some more willing people on board to help with the mission of HOW. You don't need to have any experience just a desire to give back to the Men and Women that have serve our country in the Military, Law Enforcment, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services.

Can you paddle a kayak? We can use your help
Can you fish tie a fishing hook? We can use your help
Can you let someone paddle your spare kayak occasionally? We can use your help
Can you cut bait? We can use your help
Can you talk to people about HOW? We can use your help
Can you cook fish on a grill? We can use your help
Can you take photographs or video? We can use your help
Can you help carry items, some awkward kayak shaped with assistance? We can use your help
Can you help people sign forms? We can use your help
Can you use a vhf radio? We can use your help
Can you smile and tell people good morning and goodbye? We can use your help

There are many ways you can help out with the chapter. We host approximately one veteran event per month (usually a Saturday) in the San Diego area and need to have a list of people that are able and willing to come out occasionally to help out. Currently we are taking out 15-20 participants per outing but the number is growing quick. Volunteer staff usually arrive around 0600 and wrap up around 1400 but can leave early or come late if need be. As we build a list of volunteers we will be contacting you directly by email for future help at events

We have an event this weekend 10/4 and the next one is scheduled 11/8. Both are at Tidelands. If you can help in any way let me know either direct in this post, PM, or email at socalhow@gmail.com.

Im planning on coming down...maybe help out, maybe shoot some video....maybe go lobster fishing afterwords....i will confirm later this week

Prior commitment this Saturday, but I will plan to be there on Nov 8th! Let me know if you have anyone that would do better with Hobies and I will bring em down!

Can't make this weekend but could lend a helping hand anytime afterwards. :cool:
