No love from the Yellows for me but they did put on show for about 10 seconds all around me. The bass were hungry for mackerel.

I like your delayed report. What was the weather like in June out there?

Doh! 6....9....what's the difference :p

Typo?

Or, are you really putting out a report 3 months later? I could comprehend that if you had caught like 5 yellows.
:D
If they were blowing up all around you, what were you doing wrong?

I was positioned pretty good flylining a fresh Spanish mac and I got three good chucks in with a Salas 6x Jr.

Only issue was they came up fast and I was on the phone negotiating with my family about driving me a new set of car keys after witnessing the first go over the side. “OMG the yellowtail are right here!” Click.

Maybe I needed a sardine or something that looked more like a sardine.

Boiling

Its amazing how fast they can erupt. Grabbing or pinning a live bait would be your best option if you are directly in the middle of the action. As soon as the bait enters the water, it will literally be trying to leave the water just as quickly. This will stimulate a reaction bite that the yellows can't resist. Top water lure would be a good option also if you could burn it through the yellows. If there are hundreds of yellows and you can see them up and down on the meter, a salas jig is more than capable of subduing a yellow. Sometimes you wait all day for the action and then it takes place at the most in opportune time and catches you off guard. Good luck.
