Prevent waterproof inline fuse corrosion

I took my kayak out and my fish finder wouldn't power up of course. So when i got home i checked all the wires and behold my waterproof inline fuse was as white as snow. I had to use a pair of plyers to take out the fuse that had been corroded and eaten away by the snow. I cleaned it up and put in a new fuse it still power on. I have to order a new inline fuse thingy now.

I probably marine glue the next one i get to make sure no salt water gets in it.

Frank,
take the fuse out, leave it out, solder, repair and heat shrink, the less splices/
connections the better...:D

another key factor is unplugging your battery after every trip. Also try liquid electrical tape.
