What are you building, a sail for the kayak ?

I am guessing giant chop stix for eating Chinese food while window cleaning the 3rd floor in a rainstorm? I may be a little off, but I am sure I am close.

See through, simple to make, HIGHLY!!!!! VISIBLE!!!!!!, doubles as traffic safety marker and I can play "Romper Room", and see Wade and Yanni and Hobiepeddler and Aaron and Julie and RobFish..........

The base is made by Spirit Sails. It is meant to attach to fiberglass kayaks with suction cups. The yoke fits into a Scotty mount. Now I have to figure out how I want to rig it in my Trident.

Costs:
Mount was free, given to me by Dan when I helped him during the closing of his shop.

Duct tape and sea water don't mix well, it will fall apart after a few uses.

Stitch them together instead. (Left over power pro line work great).

Drivers can be had for real cheap at the Vista Play it again Sports. They start at $2.99 and go up from there. Today they were buy one get one half off, one was $3.99 and the other was $2.99. The graphite shafts can be used in so many ways, gaff, kage, sail mast, PVC dart thrower( an amazing invention of mine) :) to be used only under adult supervision! :) and mostly as beach clean up sticks.

Cut the club head off. It will be easier if you wrap the end of the graphite with blue masking tape cover the graphite and the end of the club head where it meets the graphite, this is the hosel. The tape will help keep splintering to a minimum. Sand the cut end smooth and drive the appropriate sized stainless steel screw into the cut end. If it needs to be made more secure put a generous amount of glue into the cut end of the stick and then put the screw in. Let it dry for a few days with the cut end in a down position to keep the glue around the screw.
You now have a lightweight, super strong trash impaler. You don't have to bend over to pick up trash on a beach clean-up day. You can also write notes to your lady in the wet sand. I think have made five of these for family and friends.

You may be right, but I don't plan to use it fishing, just playing in the wind on an empty kayak.

has anyone tried this on a hobie ?
 

the only reason i bring this up, is because i have the small hobie sail . it has been collecting dust in the corner of the room since 2010 . you have inspired me to bring it out . is it mandatory to have the out rigger pontoons on the side to prevent flipping ? maybe we can sail together ? :cheers1:

You can't see us, because we've been almost non-existent for the past couple of years :)

Actually, we finally did get back on the water last Friday, our 1st fishing trip together in 2 years off of LJ, with one bug trip last Oct, and 1 solo trip (Aaron, 28lb yellow), last summer. We'll be back much more often now, hopefully, once a month, at least.
