kayak shoulder harness

Here is the deal. I go kayaking alone most of the time. At some places I need to walk up or down stairs or places where wheels just don't work. Till now I would always carry the kayak. But with the lengh of the S14 its not easy. The worst part is when I got about a gallon of water in there at the end of the day.. I hurt my shoulder when this one gallon keeped moving forward 7ft and then back 7ft.
I'm going to make a harness that goes around the kayak and then I can carry it over my shoulder(shoulder bag style). So now instead of holding the kayak in the middle the harness would have about 4-5ft between two points. Has any one made anything like that??? If you did I would like to see pics and some hints on how to make it right the first time..

Think that would work with a Pro Angler?

Sounds like you went to deer creek today? If so there is a dirt ramp about 50-100 ft to the south. its difficult by your self but it is manageable to do it by your self.

your better off with 4 wheel drive and a little bit of stealth.

Got a wide tow strap that I'm thinking about cutting to make the harness from..
Went fishing yesterday and had to carry the kayak down lots of steep stairs and its not fun.. Going up the stairs was even less fun when the shoulders are tired from the day on the water...
Also lost my first butt, Got him in the kayak to check the size but forgot to use the clip to secure him. Went crazy on me all of a sudden and off the kayak he got... Should have known better....

daym! to carry a S14 with a shoulder strap. That must be a lot of strain on your body going up and down those stairs.
Man, I can picture you walking the Corona Del Mar stairs down to the beach. I had a S14 and it was a team lift kind of kayak.

Have this guy carry it for you

GR6RR now think of getting that kayak on top of van that is over 7ft high
and take it down on your own.. Then carry that monster down the stair. At the end of the day carry it back up with your arms tired already with out the harness and no place to set it down to rest... lol.. yea I could use a harness to help me out down and up the stairs.
