C.O.G. question

Ok, here is a what if:........What if I stored my kayak cart inside the front "A" hatch (about 16 extra pounds)? How might this effect the handling/stability?
Reasons being, it fits and is a convenient place to store. I weigh around 190 lbs. Kayak load capacity is rated at around 350 lbs. I am thinking it might make it more "Pearling" prone, but having never done this, I really have no idea.

16 pounds should not be a noticeable difference. Pearling is more caused by the lifting of the rear than the plunging of the nose.

That makes sense! Might be one reason the "Bongo Slide" is adopted in HI.

Unless you put about 70lbs of wsb and halibut up there:D
(ok so it was a small 32lb wsb and large 38lb halibut)

Yep, much easier to slide in (once you have practiced it) than charge in straight with any real surf (for most longer yaks). I don't know why I put off my first "surf" session for so long. I could not wait to do it again.

Lucky there was not much surf that day Don, I had not learned how to slide back then.
