Barber pole tumors

Has anyone noticed the Barber pole rockfish have a lot of growths on their skin and fins. Is there something that makes this specific strain of rock fish susceptible to toxins in the water or something?

Did you pull one up on Sunday? I don't think I got one single barber pole at all.

I've seen what looks like tumors on fish from time to time. I didn't bother inspecting them to much, I assumed they were battle wounds.

I caught Two during the Tourney and I didn't notice anything.... I did notice that they tasted good though... ha ha

I did not have my phone on me sunday or I would have taken pictures. Next time I will try and snap a shot. This is the third time I've pulled up barber poles with tumors around the face and fins
