Mission Bay, 2-10-17

Hit up Mission Bay with Hobie Tom this morning. Launched from the Ski Beach launch ramp at about 7am, off by 11:00. Long and short of it is that I tossed the kitchen sink. Got about 10 bites and no fish. This is my first MB skunk in a long time. I need redemption. Tom at least found a couple shorts and it was fun fishing with him as it's been a few years.

How you liking that new Ride, Ed?

Amish Ed 02-10-2017 07:03 PM

Like it a lot. Having the rudder is nice too. First time I've had one. I'll like it better once I get my Mad Frog Gear stuff and have a FF set up.

How are you liking your Thresher?

Every time I get a few bucks put aside for a new yak I get hit with auto repairs. Then yesterday my wife got hit from behind on the freeway by some girl talking on her phone. Insurance will cover everything but it's just something else. I need fishing day even if it's from the P2T

I know what you mean Harry. Hopefully you can save up sooner rather than later.

I'm trying to get a part time job so I can earn some extra bucks, I don't want full time as it will interfere with fishing. They just opened a Tractor Supply in the next town over and I'm hoping they will hire an old guy who knows everything about tractors. Retirement sucks if you can't afford to play some.

I'm embarrassed to say I haven't even gotten it wet yet.

Besides this s**t weather we've had, there was an issue with that large front hatch Andy and I are working through. I'll be taking the boat in to OEX this weekend to get a little love. I'm hoping to get it out by the end of the month for some inshore bass.

I'm glad you like the Ride. Ive actually had three of them myself: A 2010 135 in Sand, and 2013's in both the 135 and 115. I was on the fence about just getting another one this go round, but wanted to try something new.

I must say that the Wilderness boats have been great to me and after trying another company late last year, I'm now a customer for life.

Good luck getting it all worked out. If you ever find yourself free on a Thursday or Fri morning, then we should go attempt to pull on some bass.
