late report 7/8

Quick report. Hooked 7 landed 3 1/4. Hooked two big ones in 130 feet of water right in front of condos. Hooked smaller ones in about 80 feet of water by the kelp line in front of condos. Oxbeast will post photo for me below. Thanks Oscar for the pictures

Nice but you seriously kept the little guy. The 80 pounds wasn't enough had to have 81.

TINCANYAK 07-19-2015 08:37 PM

Nice haul, but please no need to take the young ones.

otterpupster 07-19-2015 08:38 PM

momo fish 07-19-2015 08:48 PM

The little one

I gave all the big ones away to friends and family. I am the only one that eats fish in my household. So yes, I kept the little one. Perfect size for me.

If I am supposed to only keep the big ones, then why are people keeping the sub 50 pound bluefins?

I say keep what you will, just as long as it is legal. Most importantly, don't let it go to waste.
EAT IT!!!!!

Give the guy a break.

No one ever talks shit to the guy that keeps his first 22" halibut or that 'barely legal' lobster or that 14" calico but you guys are getting on him for this.

Enjoy the fish for what it is...........

Cadillyak 07-19-2015 09:52 PM

I bet the lil one tastes better than the big ones!

fishnfoool 07-19-2015 10:23 PM

Yes it does. I love it cooked over the grill. I prefer the larger ones for sashimi.

Well looks like you will be added to the kayak fishing/child molester offender list. Hope you enjoy telling all your friends and neighbors that you are a major offender! !

;)

Oooo really???? Team short butt???? Lol
I also got some words from someone on my 25" saying I should of let it go.... If it's legal keep it especially when you been there so many times to learn the curve ...halibut ain't cheap, 2lbs of meat is what? 40-60$? I'll be at cabrillo tomorrow again trying for the bigger models

LOL. If you are still bringing that up, I guess all the shit talking must have hit a soft spot. I still think that fish more like 21.5"

I think 21.5 is being a bit generous....

I'd call it 17.5-18"s
