LJ current conditions?

Thinking about heading to LJ sometime this weekend to try for yt my first time. I wanted to know if any of you guys had any updates on how the fishing is gojng in over there. I’ve heard that guys fishing the bottom with bait and yo-yos are getting a shot at them. I was thinking about picking up an 8’ foot stick to throw some irons maybe. Any tips or advice would be appreicated

Sounds like you're already in the know. Go fish if the weather's nice. You've got a good chance of getting a bite this time of year.

It's summertime conditions. I'd go with a flylined mac or a 2 ounce Carolina trollled Mac. The jig stick is a good idea if you spot some breezing yellowtail. Check the surf-report for wind and waves before you go

The water rolled over and is cold (62-64). Some folks reporting a hard time making bait since then. But there will be no YT biting on the couch :D

water temp on the transducer was 67F today, crazy because it was 74-75F last week. Bait was easy to find. Plenty of calicos at the bottom, but didn't find any yellows.

Weather looks nice, get out there.
