Guys, I somehow caught a seagull?! What the heck.. How do you avoid seagulls catching your bait while trolling?

Good job on getting the hook outta that seagull but...in the crazy environmentalist society that we live in today...this kinda stuff isn't good for fishing or fisherman. Environmentalists can and will use stuff like this to argue that people should not be fishing, and that they are purposely hurting animals for fun.....As ridiculous as that sounds, this is how they operate.

With that said, I'm glad you are out there having fun, and especially on a kayak! Don't take what I said in a negative way because it is not intended to be...but post whatever the hell you want but keep in mind the consequences of posting things that can potentially hurt the very thing we all love so much...FISHING!

:cheers1:

These videos are cracking me up.
At this rate, you're well on your way to hooking the kraken himself XD

Great work getting that hook out. I would have been proper freaked.

Great job getting that bird free and clear, without any extra hardware.

I had a similar situation a few months ago, except he grabbed my swimbait with his foot, not his mouth. Made it a little easier to get him off my line....

Keep it up!

I was fishing in the Oceanside harbor one day and a seagull was bobbing it's head down in the water. I thought it was just looking for something.:p I was drifting right towards it and it didn't move. So, as I get right next to it I noticed it was kinda struggling to keep it's head out of the water. I grabbed it and noticed a hook in it's beak and a line attached so I bring it in and pull on the line and it had a fishing pole under it. This seagull was lifting it's head with a fishing pole stuck to it trying not to drown. I saved it's life! :luxhello:

And got a nice little Abu Garcia rig out of it.

Well done taking care of the sea, gents. I fully believe that if you take care of it, it will take care of you.

Case and point: New Abu sabiki rig!

Sometimes those dam seagulls are worse than the dogs.

They can spot a sardine from a mile away.
