Utah trip 2182018. looong, w/pic part one.

This is my second travel log detailing my recent which is the second trip to the state of Utah. If you have read my previous report, you would know that I have been traveling to Park City, Utah to visit a distant kin who was hit with a brain stroke. Since it was my first time visiting this beautiful state, I decided that I need to try fishing as well. Then I found out about ice fishing in Utah, etc., etc., etc..

Come with me once more dear friend/s and let me show you some incredible sites that Mother Nature has granted the beautiful state of Utah.

There will be some fish pictures too, but this is mostly a travel report. As usual I invite you to scan through the pictures and then if you wish read the text. It is all up to you after all.

Wednesday, Feb. 21st

Unlike the late start of the last trip, this trip started at 6:00 AM. I wanted to make up for the last time and stop by the Hoover Dam. I have heard so much about it, yet still have not been there.
By leaving so early, I had less traffic and would be at the dam early enough to make my final destination in early evening.

There was superficial safety inspection before reaching the parking lots around the dam.

1-A small sample of the power grid that provides electricity from the dam.

2-The Hoover Dam. It seems the water level is low.

3-My guess is that this is one of the overflow tunnels.

4-Impressive bridge at the dam.

Around noon, I left the dam and after some BJ at the Silverton Casino (attached to BPS) in Las Vegas, once more I was on my way.

7-On the road to Utah.

By about 5:00 PM, I was in St. George, Utah. I visited the sporting goods store and refueled at the nearby Costco. Gas is much cheaper in Utah.

8-Statue in front of Sportsman’s Warehouse store in St. George. A company similar to Cabela’s with many stores in Utah.

9-My first sight of the snow on this trip.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...9f4abdb-me.jpg

Around 10:00 PM I arrived at Swiss Alps Inn in Heber City. I had been here before and liked the Inn very much. Lots of snow on the ground.

Thursday, Feb. 22nd

In the morning I headed to Provo and Orem to do some shopping before visiting my friend. The road was covered with snow and treacherous. There was a police vehicle where two other vehicles were driven off the highway in the ditch.
I did not chance of taking pictures and perhaps getting into an accident.

10-Much more snow was covering the ground and the mountains due to a recent storm before I got there.

11-At times there was fog, or mist to make the driving a challenge.

12-This is the Deer Creek Reservoir which is now partially frozen. Last time I was here it had no ice on it.

15-I found another place to purchase fishing gear.

16-Inside so large that they had a Ferris wheel for the kids.

17-Actually, the fishing section is a small section of the store. They had goods for most of popular sports, and of course camping and hunting.

fly fishing trip to Canada last summer.

25-The chillness of the weather would freeze any water that was exposed to it. To keep the pipes from freezing, there was small stream of water running from the carwash hoses.

Sportsmans Warehouse was one of my favorites back in AZ. Always had a great selection of gear and knowledgeable employees behind the counter.
