The Ultimate Stealth-14

Been working on this boat for a customer for some time now. This boat was quite the process. It had a lot going on and along the way we decided on adding a few little things here and there just to kick it up that much more.

Specs:

  • Malibu Kayaks Stealth-14, the first one in the new desert camo color
  • Lowrance Elite-5 Sonar on a Ram mount
  • Bassyaks saltwater motor
  • Stand and Fish pontoon/lean post system
  • YakAttack VisiCarbon Pro 360 white light
  • Running Lights
  • Ritchie X-21 Compass with back-light
  • Deck Lights
  • Fully plumbed livewell/baitwell with timer
  • Larger hatch on livewell lid
  • Livewell lights
  • Voltmeter with back-light
  • 2 Ram rod holders up front, 4 flushmounts in back
  • OEX Battery Box (for tank/sonar)
  • Silent Traction Padding for under big battery
This was a really fun boat to work on and all in all it turned out very well. I would say it is one of a kind and we probably wont see another like it. Very happy to have been the one to build it for Ken.

Wiring is actually a lot cleaner than those pictures portray, it tied up quite nicely. Wanted to put it in split loom but with how many leads there were going to all the different lights it was kind of tough. The motor and all lights are run on an Optima and the sonar/ livewell run on one of our battery boxes.

Just another kayak to show how we are different at OEX/ KayakFishingSupplies.com over other kayak shops.

Any questions feel free to post them up or email/ PM me cj@oeexpress.com

And now for the Pics and Video:

Awsume Job! And I thought I was gadget crazy... So how much, in approximate numbers, did that setup run?

Siebler 08-29-2011 09:26 AM

The customer bought the Stand and Fish direct (they wouldnt sell to me at a dealer price for some reason) and he bought a Rack and Roll trailer. All said and done knocking at about 6500 though with his other accessories I beleive.

What? No AC? How many presets on the radio?:)

sweet CJ! nicely done.

Question: Are those mini deck lights below compass and meter??

Siebler 08-29-2011 09:47 AM

Dan, Yep those are the deck lights we do.

hook1fred 08-29-2011 09:59 AM

I'm sure i'll get flack for this but for 6500 i'd get a PB.... besides that good job, looks sweet

Siebler 08-29-2011 10:01 AM

He know he could get a PB but he wanted a kayak and he wanting it done like this. I give him props for getting exactly what he wanted.

BTW, this kayak shipped to JFK so you guys wont be seeing it around San Diego

DGAX will be so jealous... Nice to finally see what over the top is.

Wow! you guys should change the website to PIMPMyYAK.com!:you_rock::you_rock::you_rock:

Awesome job on the boat, looks like everything was clean.
However, I'm the simple type, more stuff to break/lose and places that can leak =)

I'd be curious to see what happens if that boat were to roll in shallow surf. Hopefully that doesn't happen though.

kobra 08-29-2011 03:07 PM

Nice job CJ.

Siebler 08-29-2011 03:39 PM

Cabo, Your comment cant hide from the eyes of me!

No cage but speaking of, know any fab shops that will do one for my truck? Im about ready to cage and ditch the dash here.

Gonna see you at Moyer event?

For other surf questions, I dont think that the customer is planning to use in surf environments. He said he plans to launch in the sound and on lakes and rivers. Shouldnt be a problem. Plus that Lean post and the pontoon system pops off with just a few pins so he isnt stuck taking that (or the motor) if he doesnt want.

The whole time I rigged this all I could thing of was What Would Dgax do? There were definitely a few things inspired by him.

Nic D 08-29-2011 03:58 PM

clean CJ....

Badtaste2k 08-29-2011 10:03 PM

Everyone's going to crowd him to check out the Yak; He's never going to get any fishing done!

Great job on the yak, it looks awesome.

Nice job. But, I have to ask... How much does that bad boy way now?

jorluivil 08-30-2011 12:55 PM

Add a few more things and he'll need a deckhand

Rambo 08-31-2011 01:37 AM

That's just insane and very unique with all the gadget mounted. :you_rock:
