Awesome looking reel. Hopefully in a few years they'll come out with a cheaper version.

The folks at Shimano are brilliant at marketing and know what they are doing. I wouldn't pay $500 for that reel, but I'd bet it will be priced right when it does come out. That reel would be a sweet yt set up for throwing the waxwing. |
over kill for for fresh water bass & level wind for anything other than calicos is radonkilous

Don't know about the price but I'd like to fish one!

That Tranx looks nice. Since you guys mentioned the toro 50 and curado ej. Which do you like better? I've been looking to get a beefy bait caster that will last.
|
I would go with a revo toro.

i dont have a curado but a citica. citica has worked well in the salt, no problems.
the shimano VBS has little plastic weights that is easy to lose. the toro IBD has switches (for lack of a better term) for cast control. i dont even adjust the cast control, just use the thumb for cast control. so not that big of deal. both are nice but i like my toro for it's size. all depends on what size reel you prefer, toro 50 are a little larger than curado's, toro 60 even bigger. they all need regular maintenance for saltwater use which is easy to do on your own. |
