Beaking-up the Monotony of....
all the MLPA bull Shiat.....
I wanted to get a bass reel set-up. I was thinking about these two in particular. http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-st...nal-reels.html http://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-...ting-reel.html Any input/experiance with these models would be great to deduce which one's I should get. |
Of those 2, the Diawa is a full sized conventional reel, The Shimano is a bass reel.
|
Well no Sh*^t!!
I guess that narrow's it down....:D I could use the conventional....right? I like the red! |
The reason I pointed that out was because of the levelwind on a typical bass reel. That and casting a typical bass lure (1/4 ounce to 1 1/2 ounce) is a lot easier with a baitcaster.

the master (Kobra) has spoken.
But if I can add, get the 300e not the EJ. I like my 300EJ for deep water structure, but prefer my 300e for every other application. |
revo inshore
the daiwa hyper speed is going to be tough to cast for bass all day long as you will have to keep an eye on how your line is stacking up on the spool after every retrieve. and with all that red someone say thats so moto its retarded. http://search.tackledirect.com/?query=revo+inshore but if you want a Shimano John has one. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ad.php?t=12141 |
The REVO inshore is an awesome bass reel. Very compact but powerful.
|
:iagree:. I've always been a Shimano guy but my revo inshore is way better than my curados. Imo. If you were to get one reel, do yourself a favor and get the inshore. Or at least try one if you can. You won't be disappointed.

That hyper speed daiwa looks like it ought to be for wahoo of some other fast jigging application. You talking calico in the kelp bass or spotties in the bay bass? I have a curado 100 and 200 and I like both of them. I haven't tried the abu Revos but I plan to if I need another reel. My 2 curados have been great reels. Mike
