Odd lines on sonar screen...
Went out fishing with a friend today in NPH and any time he was within 75 feet or so, my sonar screen would show a mess of random vertical lines. I'm guessing it's obviously some sort of interference, but is there a "reason" I'm getting this? Did I get bubbles in the transducer mounting glue or something?
His didn't have the same problem and units I've had before this wouldn't do this. Any help would be great. Thanks! |
Its simply interference coming from another FF. Its common.
Sometimes you can go into the Transducer settings and choose a specific transducer model for the unit to recognize, rather than a general 200/50 transducer |

Hey thanks for the reply. Just for shits and giggles and because I know I can just remount it later, I went ahead and pulled my transducer off and inspected the goop for bubbles and other stuff.... I think THIS may be at least SOME of my problem... doen't look good. I will just have to take it to OEX and have them do it right instead of me doing it. I used Marine goop like they said, but maybe I did something wrong..... "maybe". LOL

Do the installation with Electrical Putty and you won't have any of those mistakes. Works great and is not permanent.

Electical putty.... hmmmm.... Any particular brand? How "not permanent" is it? Easily broken off or with a bit of umpf like the marine goop?
