Decided to try my luck fishing for Halibut a few weeks ago. I managed 3 bites on the morning, but none of the right kind.

Sorry to hear that you got skunked on the flatties, but at least you had some sort of consolation prize. Conditions looked terrible out there.

A whole barrel of fun on that rod and reel setup. The leader was 30# test. The trap hook is a 3/0 Octopus wire hook. Conditions were so bad that I was considering shooting a "How to launch and land your kayak sideways" video, but I did not want any copyright problems with Wade.:D I love LJ bycatch.
