From the I.E. to N.P.H.

What's up everyone. I'm new to this forum having just bought my Malibu Pro Explorer only a few weeks ago.

I went out to NPH on sat. around 10am I spent more time trying to learning how to fish and paddle at the same time than actually trying to catch anything. So I went home rocking the stripe but not bummed at all.

Sunday I went out again but this time I got there at 630am and madey way to the mouth of the harbor. It was really smooth out there but the water was really dirty. I ended up with only a few macs on big hammer baits. It was a blast but I need to get a few more things before I make my way out any farther. Seeing some big ass dolfins and sea lions definitely puts in perspective how wild it is out there.

I went to lake perris for a few hours just to get on the water. It was a little chilly this morning but I managed a few small bass and one that was in the 4 pound class. On the water by 630 off by 10.

I love my kayak and can't wait to post more reports.
Hope to see you guys out there.
Bent rods.

I'm from riverside and I started the same way you did. I fished Perris lake quite a few times until I started going to silver wood and I don't really go to Perris anymore only like a 10 minute driving difference depending on how you drive. Silver wood is a great place to learn to fish and yak, wind picks up around noon and you can use it to practice paddling against a strong headwind for when you go to the ocean. Good luck and be safe!

I too am new to the kayak fishing.. I have a PA14 and was lucky enough to go out with flyfisher md to tidelands for my first adventure.. it was awesome.. it was nice because the spotties wanted to play so it definately got me wanting to take the yak out again.. fished perris this past week for a couple of lmb.. nothing special.. looking forward to taking it to silverwood to do some striper fishing..

I too am in the IE.. let me know if you ever wanna go out.. Im still a newbie but im always up for a good trip.
