Lifetime Tamarack kayak

Anyone have a review or some insight into this brand?

Nothing except that they're made right in good old Utah.

Utah is years behind in regards to kayak fishing. I've seen only one or two others out and there are only two Hobie Pro Anglers in the state as far as I know (I had the first one, bought only a year ago.) There are quite a few whitewater 'yakkers, but hardly any anglers.

Lifetime Products are generally very high quality.

Do they make a decent fishing kayak?

Idaho is the same way along with Wyoming, Montana. Its moving though! We have sent some boats up there recently and Idaho River Sports is starting to seel some fishing kayaks too they told me last month when I checked in up there.

I actually saw one of them at Costco the other week. Looked very well made and stable, but really nothing I would consider for a fishing rig. Good price at under $400 - I think they were only available in red.

Rocky - you are going to have to give me some tips on bringing the PA to Utah - I'd love to fish there this summer!

Lifetime makes folding PE tables and chairs sold at Costco and other stores.

It made sense for them to branch out with kayak molds a few years a go. Sports Authority carries their line for recreational kayaks for surfing, kid-sized kayaks for lakes, etc.

The Tamarack comes in red for recreational use, and a sand-colored one with a rod holder and a hatch. Can't beat the Lifetime, Perceptions, Pelicans, etc for value priced entry Yaks.

On the other hand, if you want a fishing yak with the extras, I would suggest you save your greenbacks and get a better-outfitted fishing kayak. You'll be glad you did.
