Rockfish?

I have not targetted rockfish yet. Next time I head out I want to go after them. What kind of baits lures do people use? The only thing I have caught them on is cut squid and a sabiki. Are swimbaits good? If so, what size? Thanks all.

I believe drop shot is most common. There is a great artical on bd.com on red fish.

I love targeting rockfish. Live squid and cut fresh dead squid has worked best for me.

Bucktail jigs on the bottom with a dropper loop is good too.

Thanks, guys! I think my next trip out is going to be for rocks. I haven't had much luck with yt or wsb.

Double dropper loop and reverse dropper loop with cut squid works great! Not much to it, but great results.

butterfly jig or similar will work. It will catch the aggressive ones

I go deep and yoyo. Weeds out the dinks and still get a shot at yellows. For goats I use a reverse dropper and cut bait.

Usually what I do is just use cut squid, since that always works. Or I use one of these 4 lures to which I just attach them on a dropper loop. The one on the very left(Basstrix Trixter 6 in Pearl White) works really well on the bigger reds, and the one on the very right works well too since it is glow in the dark. Otherwise any grub in the color variation of orange, red, yellow, or another bright color should work pretty well.

Awesome! I'm going out on tuesday and i'll try cut squid, grubs and the yoyo. I already have the two tailed grubs that glow.
