Wader size question...
So I finally gave in and bought a pair of waders last week, figured the extra large should be perfect from there fit guide. (Caddis brand) Upon using on a lobster trip I found out they fit perfect except where the neoprene booty meets the pant leg, there was a thick seam that was too small to get over my calf which caused the booty to be 6 inches longer than my foot... Brought them back and salesman at sports chalet was surprised they didn't fit there so had me try on a large, double X and a Xl stout and all had same problem, same size legs in both just bigger everywhere else... anyone else have this problem? 5'11" 210 Afraid to order some nice ones online to find out there wrong size...

You must have some huge cankles :p
Does Bass Pro stock them? You could stop by there and try some better ones on. |
Instead of getting neoprene, get some breathables and layer up under them. That way u can use them in the summer if u want and sizes shouldn't be a problem. My .02. And they are WAY more comfortable!

X2. And don't forget the zipper. |
Like T-Shirts, one brands (or even models) large can be very different than another's. I have seen that problem with a few different models of waders from different makers. You could fit size 23 feet in them if you had them. Caddis has a sizing guide on their webpage which shows girth, inseam length and foot size for their models in general. Closeout models are usually that way because they were made incorrectly or poorly on the assembly end. Which model were you talking about, the Deluxe ones on sale right now at Sport Chalet?

So your problem was not that the booties were too long, but that you could not get your feet into them? Damn, that sucks cause I was just eyeballing those myself at this price.

Yea on sale for a good price, and the promo ones look like the same thing but without the double knees for $82 http://www.sportchalet.com/product/301664_3071197.do Probably don't need the double knees for yakking.
I think the sale just made up my mind to stop by and try on a pair tomorrow. |
