Kayak wall mount options?

So I moved and I need to be able to put a vehicle in the garage and the only way is to hang feom the wall. Does anybody hang theirs from the wall? If so some pics of the set up would be awesome.

This was the rack that I used to use when I had my old kayak. Bought the rack from OEX Mission Bay.

x-factor starage

Hi! when my garage is not too full from storing family members stuff this is what I use and it's great, easy to lift my x-factor all the way to the ceiling if I want and above my cars. Most of all it was very inexpensive. Good luck see you out there soon. Mark http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-lb-Canoe...item53ff9c3334

That's a good set-up right there... I keep mine 1.5 ft off the floor so I don't slip a disk mounting and dismounting.

Gargae is not long enough with the door open to hang from ceiling.

Easy the cart I made would be perfect. Its about 16 inches wide with the kayak on it (stealth 14) rolls in and outof garage. I posted pics in a thread last year. I would link if I knew how. Search for my name I don't have thatany posts.

Wall mount

I got the 2 inch webbing strap setup from West Marine for 24 bucks, works great to hang my Outback on the wall. The straps seem to cradle it fine, very stable.

kayak mount

If it's not long enough maybe you can install it diagonally inside since each of the two pulleys mount independently. That would provably make it long enough if you don't have too many things against the side walls or clear out two opposite corners. Good Luck. Mark

Mine is similar to this. But I also added screw in J hooks into the studs above the kayaks, with cam straps around them for added support.

By looping the cam straps around the J hooks a couple of times, you can use the cam straps to lift and lower the kayak simply by pulling on the straps or loosening them... if you dont feel like heaving the kayak up on the rack.

Conversely, you can heave the kayak up onto the racks, and then secure it with cam straps so that you dont have to worry about them tipping over if theres small earthquake or something.

I bought the rack "arms" from Home Depot for like 6 bucks a piece. I believe they are rated at 50lbs a piece. Plus the added support from the cam straps takes some pressure off them.

I currently have two kayaks (one above the other) sitting on my wall like the pic above. Works like a charm, and only costs like $25-30 bucks for everything to hang two yaks (plus cost of cam straps, which I assume we all already own several of at this point). I can take pics after work.
