DP 11/17 slow day
I launched for a late (LTS calls it gentleman's fishing hours) session, in the water by 11, off by 5. Beautiful day, sunny, light cool breeze, 64° water, 2' swells, mild chop, and the best part.. all the tourists are gone. I fished some cut and whole squid near the harbor entrance, nothing but a lizardfish and a perch wanted to play. I made some big fat Spanish Macs before I paddled for the headlands. Small hits on the squid over there but nothing stuck. I was back in the harbor around 3:30 drifting the macs for nothing.
All in all a very relaxing day, happy to be on the water. |
We were there too. launched at about 8:00 am. headed straight for the big kelp. It was rougher than shit for us. I even considered going back into the bay but we stuck with it. fished until noon with no real luck, just a bunch of short bass. But you know what they say, "any day on the water is a good one." You can't catch em if you don't fish for em!
