Did /Does Hobie sell the Outback without the Mirage drive?
Are they all considered Outback SUV or is that a model like the Hank Parker Edition.

Seeing a good number of mirage drives on CL for sale, how many of you have or know someone who buys an extra drive just to have it?:confused:

With a little care, they last for ever, I think is no need have another drive, just buy the parts.:)

I don't think It's necessary to buy a replacement, that is Unless you can get it cheap. I vacuum seal any part that I replaced (unless it completly useless ) and stick it in my rear hatch just in case I or someone else needs it on the water.

So did hobie sell the Outback's without the mirage drive?
Any thoughts as to why there are so many drives coming up for sale?

Mirage drives end up on Craigslist for a few reasons. They are stolen, or found on the beach after someone wipes out and didn't have his leashed down.

No you can not purchase an Outback without a mirage drive, they would have to either be "found" or stolen for someone to be selling just the mirage drive.

yup. when I found the yellow hull for $500 i sent the guy with the drive for sale an email and he said he decided to buy a boat! Bet ya they know each other!
