Yellow Tail CHALLENGE 2014
 

OPEN CHALLENGE, First Yellowtail of the year will win. Must be caught from shore or kayak. In California or Mexico. Need time stamped picture showing fish, kayak or beach, e mail to r.moore760@gmail.com.........
Winners will recieve $25 plus a T Shirt from Charles at KELP Clothing. I will automatically enter the first yellowtail caught on or after the 1st of January from our trip listed below. There WILL be two divisions, one for Mexico AND one for California, which should make it fair to all. This is for the FIRST, not the biggest Yellowtail of 2014. Results should be posted by the 15th of January 2014.

Christmas is coming, and the day after Christmas some of us are leaving for Asuncion in Baja. We will cross the border around 6am and stop to pick up our tourist cards. Then it is off to Guerrero Negro for the first nights stop. The second mourning should put us at San Rogue House by noon, with lot's of time to get situated before dark.

Anyone wishing to join us is welcome, the house is full, but plenty of room to camp by the house on the beach for $5 per night. We will be joining the town in their New Years Eve Fiesta! Temperatures should be about what we have here in San Diego. Last year it was warmer there than here. Expect to catch, halibut, yt and world class calicos, bonita too!

If you want to join us please contact me or Buddha soon. We will be having a planning session on the 8th of December at Tidelands in San Diego. Have a Merry Christmas and spend a Happy New Year with us in Baja!

Cool thing your doing Bob. I won't be winning since I rarely fish SD anymore but it is cool to see the effort you are putting in trying to build the kayak fishing community.

Have fun down in Mexico, once I have an opening that coincides with one of your trips I'll let you know.:cheers1:

I considered including them, but that would make it too easy. Matt and Matt thanks for the kind words, we all try to contribute what we can for our community.

I debated about answering this, but here goes.

Actually it was posted a month early and it is FREE! You are totally right about our tournaments dying, but WHY? They are gone, we move on, hopefully upward.

So NOW we now do Team Sewer Fish-a-Camp-a-Thons, Wade's CFKS 2014, Baja or Bust 2014, "fish togethers", family outings, and MAYBE someone like Rhyak will start a "fish along with Ryan"!!! We also can not forget Bass N Brew or the Lollipop Guys! And MAYBE someone else will STEP UP and try something NEW. That could be YOU!

As to do I fish? To find that out, all you have to do is join us on a trip to Asuncion, leaving on the day after Christmas, or any of the scheduled Baja or Bust 2014 trips. Or wait until we start posting about it. Might find a video or a picture of me with a fish, might not!

But no matter what, YOU are invited, along with everyone else in our community to come fish along with Baja or Bust 2014, Wade's CKFS 2014, or any other community events.

Doubt ill be winning this but I will sure try and get my first YT this upcoming year

1st YT and 1st BIG Halibut, Join us in June or August you might get BOTH, heck might just find the GHOST of a life time. 60lb+ in San Quintin last summer. Hope to see you there. Baja or Bust 2014. Merry Christmas.
