December 7 food bank charity event/white elephant exchange

Recently I bought 50 packs of gulp minnows. These are great for the bays. They were going to be part of the give aways for next years Bass and Brew. They were dirt cheap because they are old stock. Still will work, just don't want to keep them around for next year to dry out.

Here is my idea, bring canned goods to to Shelter Island launch or Tidelands and I'll give out the Gulp baits. We'll donate the food to a local food bank. We can do hotdogs after we fish and have a white elephant gift exchange. That should be good for a few laughs!!!!

I personally would rather fish Tidelands but will gladly go along with the group if any others care to make this event happen.

Feel free to make suggestions and respond.

Patrick

Saturday, I can be at Tidelands by 7am if that works for you. What do you need me to bring?

MrPatrick 12-02-2013 06:05 AM

Canned good of your choice. I have a small gas table top grill. I'll bring some dogs and buns and condiments.

Maybe water Bob, that would be good after paddling.
Thanks

No problem, I'll bring some iced water.

Plenty of gulp to go around!
If gulp is not your thing, then I have 100 each of these two plastics.

I can't be there on Saturday, but when I meet with you this weekend I will give you a box off stuff.

I might be able to join you but need to leave by 1300. Looking forward to all these events coming up.

Baits

The minnow and the creature are both Berkley baits. 100 to a bag!

MrPatrick 12-03-2013 02:22 PM

We only have two confirmed for Saturday.
Would anyone one else care to join in?
Just bring some caned food and get lots of plastics in return. And you get to fish with MakoBob!

Patrick, you know I was saving my coming out party for Baja or Bust, but this works as well. Thank you for bringing this get together to our community.

MrPatrick 12-03-2013 09:38 PM

Your welcome. I'll have other plastics there as well. I came across another box in the garage with YUM baits and sizemic frog baits that are like bulky Scampi lures. And some other stuff as well.

MrPatrick 12-04-2013 09:13 PM

Here's my food donation.

And I made up a "Red Bag", like I had at Bass and Brew. Someone gets this on top of the other lures I'm bringing.

Hope to see you Saturday at Tidelands.

I may come down with my son so he can practice casting from the beach there.

Big Wave Dave 12-06-2013 08:29 AM

I'm working on getting permission from the weekend scheduler. She's usually quite agreeable when I go fishing for a good cause. I should be there and may bring my son if I can get a rental yak from MCRD.

Patrick, I found a White Elephant so now I am ready. See you around 7am at tidelands tomorrow, got the water, chips and a dip. See you rain or shine.

alanw 12-06-2013 05:27 PM

Good day to test out the rain gear!

Big Wave Dave 12-06-2013 05:52 PM

My boy (25 y. o.) and I will be there. We're not too experienced at bay fishing, but willing to give it a try. Got a bunch of canned goods. Sounds like it will be a wet one.
