HH Test run Slayer 13
http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...slayerspot.jpg
I am fishing from the Native Watercraft Slayer Propel tomorrow in the SD Anglers Open Bay Bass. I installed a thru hull pump for the live well and used the transducer arm for a removable FF. Had to make sure everything was tight so I grabbed the Go Pro and a couple crank baits. Caught a couple pop tart halibut and 1 spottie in under an hour. First impressions, I like it, fun kayak! I will be landing around noon at the beach next to the boat launch at Shelter Island tomorrow if anyone wants to test it out. Brent is also bringing one for our booth there tomorrow as well. We welcome walk ups for tomorrow too. This is fishing against the best on the west coast! <iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_DyhFYM0NWo" allowfullscreen="" width="420" frameborder="0" height="315"></iframe> http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ad.php?t=20258 http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/DSC_0149.jpg http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/DSC_0148.JPG http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/DSC_0146.JPG |
Looks nice! Do you know if they have any ideas of making a Tandem version?
|
How about a longer boat as well 16'
|
Andy, post up some of your impressions...opinions about this kayak. We trust your opinion...mere detail.
Can this be tested at your shop? |
looks nice and like that it peddles more like a bike......looks like you were hauling butt
|
Did you have anyone yelling "Slow down, watch your wake"
|
That thing looks fast as hell but the peddle possition doesn't look as comfortable as a hobie.
How does the fishing and peddling feel? is it as comfortable as a hobie? |

Comparable in speed and effort to the Mirage drive. The circular motion of pedaling is a little more leg movement. There are some cool benifits to reverse, like keeping from bumping into boats when you hook a fish, just back pedaling to hold your position. The tracks make rigging really easy. The seat is right up there in comfort with the rest of that style. The Slayer falls in between the Outback and the Pro Angler IMO in what it offers and seems to be priced right between there too at $2399.
I have yet to take this in the ocean, I know it will handle rough seas as SD Bay is often rougher than open water and it was just fine there handling those big boat wakes. Need to do a surf launch and landing. |
