What are some questions a rookie SHOULD ask

This Saturday may or may not be the same as a roadtrip dropping in on YT with The Darkhorse or The Sea Samurai . . . but we’ve high hopes it’ll break our psychological inertia to getting on the water to FISH.ffice:office" />
We’re doing an OEX fishing class. Yup. Me and la esposa. 'A good chance to get out on the water (always satisfying) and learn a few things. Fun.

I’m sure we’ll have lots of boring rookie questions on the tip of our tongues as we finagle fishing from Hobie Revo 13s.From boats, to rigging 'em, to gear, to various targeting setups, to bait, to filletting, storing and cookin', not to mention fish finders, GPS, and radios -- seems like it's peeling an onion.
<O:p</O:p

I've decided to just slow-and-steady it along and enjoy the ride . . . (and avoid the Salton Sea.) :)

Anyone have a fav' "how-to" book? I was poking at Amazon and didn't have one jump out at me.

Brandon Hayword has a couple of good books. Getting Bit is a good read.

Your best bet is to check out the last 10 or 20 pages of posts in these forums so that your questions will be more specific when you go out. Depending on who takes you out, you might want to stick with things in their specialty. Their answers to those questions will be the most valuable.
