LJ today... 2/8

Launched at first light with addicted2sp33 and his buddy. We waited till we could see so we wouldn't take a wave to the chest. Little did that do me since I ended up with a good one to the face
Saw lots of fin bait but I concentrated on using an iron and soaking frozen squid.
The swells weren't real big but they were pretty quick so I had to take Dramamine and fought back the crappy feeling. The high point of the day were the whales and dolphin that put on a great show.
I was back on the beach at 1230 due to the wind and chop. Grabbed a sandwich on the way and was home by 2 and asleep by 220. I just woke up..... Dramamine knocks me out!
So now I'll be awake all night....... I should go fishing. :D

My count for the day was 3 well over legal bass and a Leopard shark. All happy to be released with only a hole in their lip.
Bass on iron and shark on dropper loop with squid.

Thanks Mike! I was itching to go out today

sounds like a tough day with the wind, but at least you ended it early and got to knock out. that dramamine stuff really puts you (and me) to sleep.

Even on the days with wind chop it's still good to be out there. Thanks for the report. Tight Lines

I don't get sea sickness anymore. The adrenaline of fishing negates the sickness. However, I've heard of people using ginger root tablets. And also DR prescribed patches that are non drowsy. Check it out

Thanks for the guided tour Mike! Definitely looking forward to next time!

KNOTTx is in the Navy, and we usually don't get seasick, but I think the frequency of the swells was too much. Thanks for the dramamine - it definitely helped get us back to shore without losing our breakfast.

Caught & Released this guy:

On the way back, there were a pair of Grey Whales that decided to pop up about 20-feet in front of my bow. Lemme tell ya, when something that big comes up from no-where, 20-feet feels waay too close!

A few moments later, a dolphin decides to do the same about 5-feet off my bow.

Then caught a Yellowtail afterwards:

Then slept for 16 Hours Straight! Fishing Insomnia + Dramamine + Food Coma = No Joke!

Those Yellowtail can be almost as tasty as the ones with scales and they go great together. Tight Lines
