Ross was this your CPR for this month, nice. Had one in the current a few years back that kept me wondering, hoping.

Congratulations. How heavy was the rock?

blitzburgh 03-05-2014 01:38 PM

That's purdee :cheers1:

jorluivil 03-05-2014 01:44 PM

that's pretty cool.

I hate to ask but are those legal to keep? That would be a cool addition to a salt water aquarium

Zed 03-05-2014 01:49 PM

I think you need a collection permit like teachers use for instruction.

MrPatrick 03-05-2014 02:01 PM

Definitely not a hook 'em and cook 'em species.

GregAndrew 03-05-2014 02:54 PM

I hate when those bite my perfectly good bait, and I have to just throw them back.. Next one I catch is getting cooked and placed on a bed of kelp.

It was an epic fight. She grabbed my Carolina rigged mackerel and headed straight for the bottom. Couldn't get her head turned until I got right over top of her. For a while I thought she had swum into cave and I had lost her. Because of the sensitivity of my spectra, I could tell she was still there. I finally got her head turned and it was over. She seemed to give up at that point because all the fight was gone. No gaff needed. She knew was beaten.

I won't give you the exact numbers but I was 61 ft of water about 1.63 miles from the DP harbor entrance. Water temp was 60.7.

They're out there. Go getem boys!

Just epic, Ross seems 2014 is YOUR YEAR! Another PB for you, what is next??

rossman 03-05-2014 04:41 PM

Forget about the YEAR. Yesterday I was out walking my dog and found $25 in the grass. Then I got a message from Drake telling me that I had won the raffle for the day and a half Islander trip. Today's PB was the cherry on top. All in all a pretty good week.

This is the best report I've seen in a long time. Someone's bound to ruin it :D

Looks like an underwater Banzai tree. I bet it was like reeling in a small boulder.

Background Pics?

Sheesh. There goes the neighborhood

Ah, the elusive Granite Grouper. Hope you didn't have to puncture it's air bladder to get it back down.

Almost positive I saw you guys as I was heading out on the cattle boat today.

cabojohn 03-06-2014 08:18 AM

Congrats Rossman!
That's a great picture. :)
Z, you should frame that one and give it to your dad for Christmas.
