South Korea -Mandarinfish and Big Bait bass
7 Attachment(s)
Some days ago got 22 small bass, five river tarpon and a mandarin fish from the kayak. All released. Mandarin fish was one of my bucket list fish I wanted to land while in Korea.
Yesterday fish 9" Osprey's from the kayak. Have put a few hundred hours into the big bait thing with little payoff, nice to bust a couple even if they weren't monsters. |
Friday and Saturday's fish

A lot of people told me couldn't be done, catching bass on big baits. Friday night someone told me that the bass were too small in this lake, impossible to catch on big baits.
Sometimes just have to do your own thing. |
Great report and nice pictures. Thanks for letting us see what is going on in your side of the world. Keep those reports coming.

Awesome report, ill bet you get lots of strange looks on a kayak

How's that swim bait rigged up? Looks like the line is ran through the nose and out the bottom tied to a treble hook...

nice report! any reason for using the side kick? The water looks pretty calm.

The sidekicks add an insane amount of stability and don't really get in the way as I expected them to, so not really any reason not to use them. If I want to reach behind me and grab another rod, or a sandwhich, the kayak doesn't get all tippy. I'm still not brave enough to try standing with my 6'5" clumsy frame though. |
