Kamp-Rite
About a month or two ago, somebody was talk'n about the kamp-rite...it might have been Buddha or rossman.....At the time I was look'n for a small tent just for Baja, something that wasn't going to get blown away or flattened out by the wind.
I looked at the kamp-rite...and to be honest I didn't really like it..I thought it was a stupid idea...but did some research on it, and it had pretty good reviews. I wanted a small tent, but couldn't find one that could stand up to the winds for under $500 bucks...or something like that. So I looked on amazon and found a used kamp-rite for about $140 + tax came out to something like $156 bucks. After having used it for the last trip over to Gonzaga bay...I have to say I love this thing! It stood up to the strongest winds that Gonzaga could dish out. Not only that it held up my fat ass like a champ! Easy to set up, and take down.. just like folding and unfolding a chair, takes up little space (if laid flat). It's a good buy! I'd have to give it the team sewer stamp of approval! http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps332cb0b8.jpg |
That is awesome. When I camp up at lake McClure we always sleep on cots under the stars, but there have been windy nights where this would have been a godsend.

Will definitely look into this!!

Your welcome. I need to find a good inflatable pad for mine next. I actually got kind of deathly sick on the trip after you left but that is another story.
|
I hate it...it didn't stop your snoring from pouring through...:the_finger:

Well that sucks...didnt hear about that one...care to elaborate? Was it the food? Oh by the way budda when are you personally delivering my turkey fryer? |

I am still sick right now, when I am better I will tell you the story and no it wasn't the food. |
The real test will be Tony and Roby doing the "rodeo" inside.:the_finger:
If it can handle the two of them in it .......I'll buy one! |

Every tent that has gone to Gonzaga seems to have one night where it gets blown flat, trying to beat its owner to death. Tony and Jeff both used the camp-rite cot/tent and had no problems with the winds at 40+. Baja tested!!!

So I got it from you

Hope you feel better soon |

Adventure trailers
check out these guys if you like that sort of thing,
www.adventuretrailers.com I have used their stuff for years and it is well thought out and durable. I don't think the Conqueror products are routinely available in the USA. Chris |

Goggle "teardrop trailers" and you'll find U.S. Manufacturers, plans, and pictures of the standard style and newer (off road shown in the video.) style.

Not a bad idea Tony. I like it. I am one of the guys who got a beating by my Tent one night in Baja. I dealt with it and my tent survived, but it would of been nice to get some more sleep rather then getting uppercuts to the dome by my 4 person. Saw some for sale on overstock $170 with rainy fly, no tax, shipping, might pull the trigger.

I saw that same one last night, I almost clicked 'buy' but I want to see Tony's before I commit to it. |
