Daiwa Lexa 300hs-p ...what rod?
Picked up a Daiwa Lexa 300hs-p and am going to put 40lb braid on it. I have a medium heavy teramar that I was going to put it on for calicos but was also wondering what rod would go well with it for casting light irons? Sticking around the $150 range hopefully. The teramar I have only throws up to 1.5oz so need something in the 2-5oz range. Any anyone else have a similar setup and want to share?

The Teremar Heavy is 2 oz... you can check out Shimano Clarus heavy steelhead rod....2-5 oz i had it in 8 ft bad ass rod

joezee1986 can you post a link to the shimano rod you're talking about? The highest rated weight I could find were 1 1/2 ounce heavys.

Ok found em. You have to look for salmon not steelhead

Look into swimbait rods for chucking big baits since you need something with a reel seat. I'm currently using a dobyns 807mag h to throw irons with my bait caster. It's rated 20-50#.
Specifically made for hucking 12" hard body baits |
A decent rod to look at that is just under your budget at 139.99 is the okuma guide select 7'11" heavy. Rated 15-40#. It's a little shorter then a jig stick but they really cast well. I've found that jigsticks are a little awkward for me from a kayak and like feel of a heavy bait caster rod better.
