Sometimes the best days are the ones where you don't go after the big fish.

Decided to save some gear from the LJ surf this weekend - heard it would be huge. Took the girlfriend to Shelter Island instead. Had her ride back to back, sitting where I usually have my bait tank. Worked out nice...kayak was stable and paddling was easy. A few beers, 5 bass, and some sun made for a great day on the water.
