Launched from kids beach 0630, picked up a scoop of minnows (seriously, 2 inch chovies were the size of minnows). The chovies were so small I lost about 3/4 of them through the drain tube in my live well, leaving a nice chum line! ! Unintentionally of course. I couldn't keep the bait on the hook. Just threw around the swim bait (Z man paddlerz) for some 10-12 inch calico in the kelp. Headed into the harbor and wanted to use the remaining chovies. Didn't have any small hooks, so i got the idea of pining them on the sibiki hooks. Got a few huge macs, a small calico 8 inch and a small halibut 13inch, and called it a day. Coming into kids beach, another kayaker came in too. Thought he was a BWE member because i saw the logo on his battery box, but he said no, he just buys things on the site. He said he targets thresher and to check out his YouTube channel (Tony Rigatony). He then gave me a few swimbait that he made, told me to get some gear for sharks and to join him some time (every Sunday at 5). I might just do that sometime! !
