Used my spotting scope and outside the harbor I spy what appears to be about 40 boats all different sizes pretty well clustered but spread out in a general area. Either whales or WFO fish bite?

anyone know?

so bummed today isn't my day to fish.

I can tell you its not whales! Look at the dana wharf fishing reports and you will know exactly why they are there....

It would be quite a spotting scope to see box Canyon from Dana Point

Ya I think box canyon is quite a bit south of Dana. But there were about the same number of boats on box today. Could see from red beach on camp pendleton.

grabbed the VHF... it was whales. A lot of them w/ pods of dolphins. Radio chatter was all about how clear it was and how many greys that were fluke-ing? not sure but I think that means showing off their tails.

Who needs cattle boats when you have the U.S.S. YAK (Yellowtail Attack Kayak!).

Look for a yak report some time tomorrow!

Nice! I'm going with someone who got the trip for a Bday present, and he doesn't have a kayak.

I'm doing the kayak thing this weekend, hope to get something
