When WSB season is around, I'm sure u will see a couple yaks out there.

Dannowar 03-23-2015 07:22 PM

Actually way more relaxing and (sometimes) less of a crowd.

corpsmanusn2001 03-23-2015 07:23 PM

Only in the harbor. Never in the deep end. Lol.

Dannowar 03-23-2015 07:30 PM

I almost miss peddling out at midnight and spending all night scoopin squid and dodging douchebag pb's. Ask this guy about fishing at night....

I've gone all night more than a few times and find I excitingly creepy.

:cheers1:

All I seem to catch after dark are sharks. I never pulled an all-nighter but if I did I don't think I'd go alone.

I live in the bay at night in the winter, been out to LJ a bunch at night too. 95% of my trips are solo. Calm, relaxing, and quite. It can be a little sketchy at times depending where you are for the simple fact that the lights from the shoreline black out the open ocean

EastLosYaker 03-23-2015 10:28 PM

Are you required to have some kind of light on the kayak?

easyday 03-23-2015 10:31 PM

Jim, nif you ever want some company out there scooping squid and don't mid a tag along Id be down.....if it ever shows up...... But being out at night is lots of fun eerily quiet at times, but definitely a good time.

I've been out all night in the bay before. Very nice, peaceful, and productive.

Yes on the lights, at the least the white one in the rear.

I was out one night like 2:30am and I hear this scream and over the radio, saying this whale almost landed on him.....

night fishing is exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, almost now feels like the good old days. Me, Danny and Neil put in some serious nights (through the mornings!!) and were well rewarded when the squish were around. Def miss those days backing each other up. I remember bitch Neil landing a barn door before it even got dark one day and left me by myself out there. It's all good if one is confident and prepared. Kinda think there'll be plenty of company if it ever goes off again...inner circle Josh-man. Jim

I'm ready for a night trip. Let's get a good group.

Cadillyak 03-24-2015 07:52 PM

When and where. I'm game!

momo fish 03-24-2015 07:59 PM

Given my hate for sabiki and early morning fishing that sounds like something more down my ally..

Been out at LJ as late as 10:00 during the winter and it seems like the water is generally calmer.. Is that always the case?

Cbad Mike 03-24-2015 08:05 PM

Sometimes. I've seen it all out there at night. It's spooky but fun. The whales will scare the shit out of you. Lol
