SAN QUINTIN DEAL
While in SQ last weekend Kai and I tried to put together a deal for kayakers. A day of yak fishing with your own yak at San Martin island or Soccorro or Camalu. Cost of panga trip per person $100.00 minimum 3 or 4 anglers.
Leave Don Eddies 6am, fish the day, come back to Don Eddies that afternoon. Tony makes nothing on these trips unless YOU stay or eat there. Contact Don Eddies at 1-866-989-6492 to book or for more information. Or contact me. Tight lines. |

Suprised none of you guys are interested in mothership/panga trip to San Martin. This is an oppertunity to fish the island for a day on your kayak.
Get two buddies together and take a three day weekend, summer is wasting. You worked hard this year, you deserve a weekend off. Tight lines. |
Im up for any weekend in August. I would like to fish around San Martin Island but Im willing to go wherever the fish are. Anyone else? MakoBob? BajaTraveler?

This trip would make an epic video for sure! If they can safely and reliably transport those kayaks over to the island and back...It would be insane!

FYI I just remembered its my Grandma's 80th birthday August 9th so I can go any weekend in August except that one. I would never be forgiven if I missed that! It looks like this trip is a go! Lets see which weekend works best for Jim |

I myself have my doubts about transporting 4 kayaks and four people from a Panga but you know how they do in Baja! Mexican's in general, I remember riding in my dads volkswagon with 7 others. To this day I still don't know how we all fit in that damn thing! Sounds like its gonna be a great trip. I think you should join us ful-rac! |
Tow them.
|
Silly question - but how do you get to San Quintin?

Towing them would work, and is probably the only way to do it especially with PAs....but....somebody is gonna lose a handle or two or three...

Is your name Tony Murphy? Cause if it could go wrong it would be your PA.
Back when motherships were being introduced (Orion. What a tug.) we had to supply our own bow and stern lines for easy loading/unloading but also for daisy chains of kayaks (not PAs) on moves from spot to spot. I assume 4 kayaks daisychained behind the panga is what theyd do inSQ. Just hope the mouth isnt breaking. |
Myself, Grego, Gabe and Gabe's bro in law did a mothership from SQ to San Martin back in July of '07. We fit 3 of our yaks on a super panga and got dropped off at the island with Tiburon's Pangas. That was a fun adventure. Mostly smaller yellows and sandbass on our trip back then.
