I may see you out there, debating a Salt Creek run and considered looping out in search of close paddies.

fishnfoool 06-17-2015 09:23 AM

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing. Just depends on weather and how hot or not salt creek is.

Iceman, hit salt creek. Ran my dad's boat a total of 50 miles yesterday. We stopped on multiple paddies with nobody home, didn't see any close to home either. Have seen a few reports on the good ol' instagram of BIG WSB and YT coming out of there lately.

10-4 likely plan for me if I clear my plate :D thanks!

Where is Salt Creek?

Iceman 06-17-2015 11:39 AM

north of the DP Headlands, about 3.5 miles north from the harbor

How did it go boys?

fishnfoool 06-18-2015 09:25 PM

Report

Caught lots of fish...........all bait. I did go about 3.5 miles off shore, but only saw a school of sardines. Lots of birds and dolphins eating the sardines, but no game fish underneath.

Iceman 06-19-2015 08:14 AM

25 inch halibut off Ritz released 80 pound thresher off Headlands broke off.

LBKayakDude 06-19-2015 09:02 AM

Andy where did u launch from?

Iceman 06-19-2015 09:59 AM

I launch from the boat launch to shorten the paddle to Salt Creek........and the restroom at Baby Beach is not open early enough.

TroutBum 06-19-2015 10:11 AM

Is it $10 to launch at the boat ramp? Just wondering.

yep $10 bones but way shorter paddle out of the harbor, you can dump your gear right into the water/pick it out without dragging around or needing wheels, and there are hoses etc for washing down gear when you get back..

Zed 06-19-2015 10:55 AM

You can pay $10 or paddle an extra 1.6mi (0.8 each way).

TroutBum 06-19-2015 11:01 AM

I am liking the shorter paddle and the hose to wash down everything.

Thanks for the info!
