bait tank wiring and outflow questions

About to wire up my bait tank and want to double check. Does this sound right...

Positive terminal ----> fuse ----> switch ----> pump

Pump ----> negative terminal

Thanks in advance.

Fuse always goes on the hot or positive wire but I don't know if it matters whether the fuse goes before or after the switch.

Fuse location

The fuse is there to protect your wires and equip. So the fuse needs to be as close to the the battery as possible.

Appreciate it fellas. Been awhile since I soldered something. It's starting to come back.

One more question...

With a 25lb Vittles Vault tank ( 12x12x12 ), what are you guys having success with in terms of water level height? I drilled my outflow about dead even with the molded handles. That too much water?

Always easier to add holes lower than to plug them later.

Also, put a couple extra holes higher in case the low ones get plugged
