Opinions: Surf to Summit Insulated Fish Bag

Is anyone using a surf to summit insulated fish bag?

Does it retain the cold for a day? What method?

Whats the durability?
Any problems and or solutions?
Any suggestions?

P.S. Sorry, It wasn't supposed to be a link.

Do not click on the link above. I got threats from my Symantec anti-virus software and did see a few redirects.

I like the native bag better, had both and returned the Summit bag. The Native holds ice longer and is easier to keep clean.

ironcross6921,

Can you please post a pic of your catch bag on your outback?
I too am thinking about getting one after I had the fish inside the hull and had hard time cleaning the smell..
Thank you!

Sorry mines on one of my PA14 but loaned it to my folks to use on their Oasis tandem and worked fine. And yes I did use zip ties (makes it easy to swap between yaks.

Reliable

I bought one of the new Reliable kayak bags and I really like it. The insulation is great...lots of room...and well made.
I like it so much i've been using it on the front of my skiff on my off-shore Tuna trips.

Was going to go reliable but was told they leak. I went with a Canyon wahoo sized bag.

I have the Canyon wahoo sized bag, it is on the big side for using on the kayak....I keep mine rolled up in the car. If I get a big good fish, I break it out, fill it with ice, and yes, it does not leak, so even when the ice melts, the cool water still keeps the fish cold. I have not used the reliable brand bags, but if they cost as shown on the website link, they are overpriced. I have a similar bag to both designs shown on the website. I paid $100 for a big bag locally that has velco along the edges, bag is easy to clean, keeps the sun off the fish, but if you use ice, best be in packs, cause when it melts, it leaks out. I also had a bag from liquid surf and sail that was reflective silver on the outside, and very similar designwise to the reliable kayak bag. The bag held melted ice fairly well -- very very slow drippage -- and fitted well on the kayak. liked it alot until I lost it. Looks like they ran out of stock on that bag, and are now selling a similar model without the reflective outside for slightly more.

I am in the market for a new kayak style fish bag with reflective material on the outside, any recommendations ? Thanks.

How do you tether these bags to your outback? Do you need to add eyelets?
I have a 2015 outback
Thanks for our help again!
