Early morning catch, caught on a Spanish mac with 2 dead squid pinned on, I call it the 'Poo-Poo Platter'

By 10ish I only had 3 baits left in the tank, all 3 were barely moving. I knew that someone had already landed a monster wsb so I decided to stick around hoping something else would bite. Around 1030 I start fishing some deeper water (150'-170') and start to see marks down at the bottom. I drop a large greenback and within a minute or two something hits it but it doesn't stick, as soon as I bring my line up my 40lb flouro is frayed....f-en shark!! I decide to take a chance and drop a Spanish mac with some squid pinned down to the bottom on and within just a few minutes and in 170' of water I'm on.

I could be wrong but I believe I would have taken the wsb division had that monster not been caught

Yea. And I think I could have won had I elected to fish instead of cook YOUR lunch.

THAT is THE biggest woulda coulda shoulda story I've heard in quite a while pal...:the_finger:

I didn't want to screw around with a gopro so I left it in the truck. Fortunately, the camera boat was nearby when I hooked my yt, can't wait to see the footage.

Never mind what happened to the pictures...what the hell happened to you? You give up Kayakn for good?

I am still kayak fishing.....and alot of fishing offshore on boats

My outdoor freezer is packed to the brim only fish and I donated 600 lbs of fish when I landed from my 5 day...so i really can't mention fishing out loud around my wife... whisper "EL Nino has been a blessing from God - keep on fishing!!!"

One thing is for sure, I launched a few hours after you and still managed to catch a bigger YT and WSB...........oooh wait, you didn't catch a YT.

I did but with little time left on the clock I only manged to pound sand for about 30-45 minutes
