Promar Hoop Net repair
I have a brand new Promar Ambush Net that I left out on my patio and a rat chewed it up pretty good
Looks like Promar doesn't sell a repair kit for their nets and a quick Google search doesn't bring up anyone else selling them either. I tried fixing it with 40lb mono but it looks like ass, especially where the holes are really big. What do you guys use to repair your hoop nets? |
I'm sure you could weave new nylon polyester thread material... but on the water if I discover holes from rocks or seals I use zip ties to close the holes. Fast easy and still have ties on a couple of hoops from last season and the work.

I use nylon braid to fix my nets which is stronger than the original material.

Could you buy some netting material to make a patch? I'm sure bulk fishing net is available online in a variety of styles and material. You might contact Promar and inquire if they have a repair kit available despite not listing one for retail.

We sell twine and netting here at my work. Mainly used for batting cages but will work the same
|
Do you have an old net? When I have a net that I'm about to dump I will first take it apart and save the twine that holds the nets together, can't tell you how often this has come in handy

You can also take the bottom ring of other style than Ambush and zip-tie it your new net for additional weight. For Ambush you would need to grind the uprights. There is place in Redondo Beach that sells netting and they also may repair it. If interested, send me a PM reminder, so I can look for their business card. |

Coyote showed up again today, stayed in the middle of the street in the middle of the day for quite awhile. I guess he just lives here now. He must know my huge male cat by now  |
