Mission Bay, New Year's Eve
 

I'm going to hit Mission Bay New Year's Eve morning if anyone wants to join me. Launching from the Ski Beach launch ramp about 6:30.

I should be there if the wind isn't blowing.

We could launch at the north end where we did last time. Fish sail bay early. If it's blowing offshore it will be lessened there. Then around 9 go back to side where we launched and hide from the nw wind there. But, according to the current weather report the winds won't be bad.

We'll call it when we get there. When I picked up the new yak it was blowing white caps on sail bay.

I don't know when you are starting your New Years celebration but I know for sure I won't be starting 24 hours early.

Harry, it's supposed to blow pretty good tomorrow. We should reschedule for next week.

Ed, where do you get wind reports from? I'm planning on going to Mission Bay in the morning, checking weather for San Diego in shows very light winds. Trying to learn this stuff.

Accuweather. 8-12 at launch time (6am), 21-28 by 10am. 8-12 I can deal with, 20 and above is just not fun.

Where are you getting your report from?

okay Ed. let me know when you want to go, I'm itching to go fishing

from the weather channel and under ground weather.

I check those out later. The problem is that I don't want to spend $25 in gas to find out accuweather is right. And they tend to underestimate too. I might try a quick run to Newport though.

$25 in gas, ha, try $50 for a Mission Bay trip for me. $25 won't even get me to Newport and back.

Well Harry, the wind didn't blow today. 4 out of the 5 forecasts I looked at for tomorrow say low winds. I'm going tomorrow if you want to join me.
