A Glorious La Jolla Day
3 Attachment(s)
Went to La Jolla with a buddy. Both of us landed 2 yellows each in the 30lbs class. Bait was easy to make, mix bag of green back and spanish. Launching was a bit on the gnarly side. Obviously we made it out.
Saw 5 kayaks out on the water all day. And the private boats didn't show up until late morning/early afternoon. It was a ghost town. Winds picked up at 12 and chased us off the water at 2. All fish that were landed were on the fly lined green backs. Lost 3 yellows to the kelp, two were dropper loop pick ups with one fly line. All in all it was an epic day, good weather, good company, everyone was friendly, and no harassment from the sea lions!:luxhello: biggest went 33 lbs, smallest was 29 lbs. Saw a few other guys hook up and land a few. Everyone was stoked to say the least. |
