Hobie Live Well Question
Has anyone ever rigged the regular Hobie Live well to another brand Kayak? As with the X-13, the best option for Live-Well imho is on top of the stern, and I am not too big on the idea of an over the side pump creating drag, or a homemade Vittle Vault with my luck that will short out first run. While I still of course have to measure the dimensions, I am curious to hear if anyone has accomplished this..
I more than likely will end up with the KFS Bait Tank as it is what's recommended, but for $100 more, I was wondering if the Hobie Livewell can be rigged to go down the scuppers of other kayaks, and if losing that little bit of drag is even worth the extra $100? :cheers1: |
The livewell works perfectly in the Thresher. The downspout tube doesn't fit into the scupper but it hovers over in a spot where it drains normally.

as long as it fits, why not?

Had transducer hanging
Over the side . It sucked . The amount of drag was noticeable . If you can afford it and make it work , I say for go it .

Hey man, how does yours prime? I thought that scupper tube was needing to reach down into the water so water can be sucked into the tank? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVBEfJqLdBo :cheers1: |

Right, the intake tube needs to align with a scupper for it to work. It just happens to work in the thresher.

The stock intake tube is long enough to get into the water http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...k7/image7.jpeg So the Hobie can work in other kayaks under the right circumstances. I was pleasantly surprised that it worked in both because I like the Hobie tank. Hopefully this helps |
