Hi!
Unfortunately in Portugal, we cannot always go after the big fish, That of course is my favorite, But also really like this type of fishing, Best regards |
is this bloody decks or BWE?
|
Is that bait or dinner.....
If dinner can you follow up with the dish.....
|
OP, You ever try fly fishing for mackerel?

I eat mackerel too
Big macks (and bonito) are fun to catch with a solid oversized sabiki. Your approach is strange however - you do not shake the line, water is dead-still, you are just waiting on a motionless rig. Are you using meat-bait on the hooks ? Or using some other trick ?

I have never once jigged my sabiki for mackerel anywhere. LA jolla, oceanside, dana point, anywhere. The current moving your sabiki or kayak slightly is plenty by itself. Once you meter a school of bait drop down and wait, at least that is what I do and never had a problem with it. |
